About Amy Burgess, BSN, MSN, CNM
Amy Burgess is a graduate of University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and has earned a post masters in nurse midwifery from the University of Illinois Chicago. She also earned a B.S.N. from the University of Iowa. She is board certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board. Amy is passionate about providing midwifery philosophy of care to her well women and obstetric clients.
Amy utilizes evidence based practices with a strong focus on informed consent for healthcare decision making. She encourages a wellness approach to pregnancy and enjoys providing a family centered model of care with low tech and high touch. She believes women can better care for themselves with incorporating daily self-care into our busy lives including eating a well-balanced diet, regular physical activity and stress reduction techniques.
After being a labor and delivery nurse for over 10 years, Amy was inspired to become a midwife when she saw the need for holistic and evidence based care as well as choice of provider types for both well and childbearing women.
"I was passionate about being a registered nurse but knew I could make more of a difference providing direct care to women and their families."
Amy and her partner Drew have 3 children and reside in Monument Colorado. They enjoy spending time with family and friends and getting outdoors in the Colorado sunshine.
